Consulting & Technology Service Line Leader
Will serves as the firm’s consulting and technology practices leader. With over twenty years helping companies solve complex problems, he advises hospitals, physicians and healthcare companies to set strategic direction, develop in-depth analysis and design, and then lead implementation of performance improvements. His experience encompasses mergers and acquisitions, operational improvement, change management, organizational design, cost containment, revenue enhancement, strategic planning, and IT planning.
Will has advised clients in deals with a combined value well over two billion dollars ($US) and is a frequent speaker on mergers and acquisitions. Most recently he co-presented with the senior litigator from the FTC and deal-making and regulations.
He has served as a principal at PricewaterhouseCoopers and interim CEO of several organizations as well as a Captain in the US Army. Will holds a B.A. in Electrical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University, as well as MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, graduating Summa Cum Laude and Fuqua Scholar. He serves on non-profit boards and is a frequent speaker and author.
Jim May, Senior Advisor
Healthcare Service Line Leader
Jim is the firm’s healthcare practice leader and senior advisor. Previously, he was the CEO of Mercy Health and EVP/COO of Catholic Health Partners as well as CEO/COO of several other systems. As an operator, Mr. May has in-depth knowledge of all areas of hospital and provider operations, finance, patient care, compliance and margin improvement. He has helped hospitals operate and achieve optimum results as a CEO for more than 25 years. He is a nationally recognized expert in population health management. His expertise includes extensive experience in all aspects of healthcare, including quality improvement, strategic turnaround, program development and implementation, technology, and strategic partnerships.
He holds a B.S. in Psychology and Chemistry from the Ohio State University and a MBA in Finance and Health Administration from the University of Chicago. Jim serves on several non-profit boards.
Rhonda White, NP

Susan is a highly accomplished consultant with over 20 years’ experience including operations, staff, compliance, project management and customer satisfaction. Susan is the firm’s service line leader for increasing engagement and advises clients on engaging with a “customer.” As a Senior Leader in BGI, Susan collaborates on the floor and in the board room to improve operations, achieve buy-in at the operational level from evolving policies and procedures, and manage change to comply with current regulations and requirements.
Susan works with client staff to integrate real-time information system(s) data to rate performance against quality, efficiency and risk management targets to improve patient quality and services. She’s led projects for the firm involving Medicare Reimbursements utilizing multiple EMR systems. She is highly skilled in preparing clients for accreditation and surveys. Susan is frequently counted on as a close advisor and able project manager.
Brian Wade, Executive Vice President
Brian Wade joined BGI with over 20 years of leadership development, change management and training expertise. He serves as the firms business and organizational development leader. Any given week you will find him in with employees on the floor, or in scrubs in an OR, or a suit in the Board Room, or in various meetings with C-suite clients and staff. He uses his relationship skills to help clients manage change, develop leaders who have significant impact on results and implement new programs. On the “opposite” end of the scale, he is particularly adept at helping organizations prepare for accreditation. As the Executive Vice-President and Client Partner, Brian works with you from the conception of the project to its completion. Brian combines well thought out solutions with pragmatic experience. He graduated #1 in his graduate class and will soon complete his doctorate. He will ensure that your BGI experience is second to none. After all, it is BGI’s results and relationships that set them apart from everyone else.
Heather Creran, Laboratories Practice Leader
Heather is the firm’s laboratories practice leader and a senior C-suite advisor. Previously she was President of EGL and NTD – Eurofins Clinical Diagnostics and CEO of CSI Laboratories. Heather has extensive strategic and operational know-how in driving growth and transformation. She has led strategies to turn around underperforming companies, led complex integration processes, launched new products and services, built partnerships, and expanded commercialization.
Heather’s areas of expertise include cost reduction and operational efficiencies, commercial and reimbursement strategies, team leadership, merger and acquisition due diligence and integration, and customer service and experience.
Heather serves on advisory boards and committees with high profile non-profit industry and government organizations. She received her B.A., with majors in Economics and Political Science from Duke University.
